The sun is out, the washing machine is on, cats are fed,and I've got a loads of orders come in overnight so work is good. Have an Amazon fresh delivery lunchtime too so that's the basics of shopping covered too.I like  it when the day starts organised lol. Am still pretty sure I've forgotten something I'm meant to do but am sure I'll remember when it's far too late to do it!

Morniing Smow - i hope you are feeling a bit better .  Because of work going on in the house I have been evacuated for the second time in my life to accommodation provided by the insurance.

All very nice and a welcome change of scene and my daughter is coming from Bristol today to stay for a few days.  Meanwhile i have to work out how the appliances work here !  X

Good morning, know how you feel Rosie I am trying to get to grips with someone elses appliances that we 'inherited' with the house move. Hope you are back in your own place soon.

Going to pop down the local shops to try for a nail appointment and coffee in a good coffe shop. Out for a meal tonight in a restaurant 5 minutes from house,  Not used to all this convenience after years living very rural,

Morning all. We have just had a Sainsbury delivery so thats the highlight of my day over and done with. I am going to do a chicken casserole  with dumplings for dinner this evening, now that we are into autumn.

How is the tens machine going Smow? It sounds like you have a busy day.

Are you enjoying your new surroundings Rosie and ubasses. I moved around  a lot when I was a kid but have lived in my current house for many, many years

Morning Smow and all. Had a technology day from hell yesterday. Following Wednesday finding out I was minus lights I went to the garage and asI thought it was puttung a switch in the correct position. The man just smiled at me indulgently!

Next my new phone arrived. The first smart phone I have had. My OH who doesn't live with me said to charge it up and he will come round today to set it up. Firstly I found the charger I have got doesn't work with this phone, so I went to Currys and bought one for a Samsung. Got it home and it wouldn't fit in the mains, so dashed back to Currys (it was now gone 7pm and they shut at 8). Imagine my mortification when the girl took it out and just pulled the top pin up so it would fit. Apparently they do that for ease of packing, but nowhere in the booklet does it explain that!. Also all the booklets are so tiny that I need my glasses and a magnifying glass to read them. At least I have the phone charged now.

I must admit I am not looking forward to OH trying to explain how it works to me. What is obvious to him just confuses me. I feel exhausted already, and now must "gird my loins" for later in the day when I will be expected to use it. Watch this space for developments.

Calda, I am the same but I find my Samsung phone easy to use , albeit I only use it for a limited number of tasks, so I am sure it will be fine. And you are quite right about instructions, they drive me nuts

Rosie, how long are you being evacuated for??

ubasses - I'm so pleased that the moved is going well so far. Was my biggest fear with my in- laws movingrevently,  having being in their old house for 33 years and then moving & instantly regretting it but so far so good!

rosetta - chicken stew & dumplings sounds absolutely wonderful!! One of my favourites. The TENS machine I've used twice and it's certainly powerful(or can be anyway). Whether it will make any difference I don't know but it certainly feels very therapeutic using it.
