I got one of Pam Ayres' books out of the library today - the poems don't seem as funny as when she does a live performance but here's one I picked out as it covers gales, builders in, and outside toilets, all of which have featured on Ab recently:-

Banging

The builders are busy at our house,

With a portable loo standing near,

Hard the wind blows,

And the door doesn't close, 

Brother, it's banging round here.

I agree not so funny when you just read them.

I've seen her a couple of times on stage and she is great.
