Goodness, how awful. This isn't just a bit of flooding and a few homes ruined - for many poor people life will never be the same again. My thoughts are with them.

It puts the UK floods into perspective. Yes people's homes have been devastated but we haven't seen anything like this yet.

I saw this too - just horrific. It seems that it was so quick and unexpected which is why there is barely any camera/ video  footage of it to see it unfolding - people just didn't see it coming.
