I use an Epson XP-452. I've had it for a few years, and it's never let me down. A box of ink cartridges costs about £44.00 from Agos. It measures about 15" x 11" x 6".

Sorry! Argos!

Do you want it to scan and copy as well?

WiFi connected or USB?

Mono or colour?

How much printing will you be doing? Occasional, regular or a lot?

I've always used Epson, mainly because of the availability of cheap non-original inks.

Had the current one, XP-405, for a few years now so probs obsolete but it still bangs away fine.

Only occasional printing, either WiFi or USB not a lot of scanning or copying mainly for printing, and as compact as possible.

Ebay sellers sell compatible cartridges – an example below is 2 sets (plus 2 additional black cartridges) 10 cartridges for less than £16 with free postage.

Thanks hymie, for the links, very helpful just ordered the printer and the inks.

Printers are the bane of my life!

I only use mine infrequently but when I need to I need to. I bought an Epson recently -  the ink ran out after a few pages (they don't give you much ink with the printer purchase). They keep offering me an ink plan for 10 pages a month but I don't do that much. Very confusing how the plan works.

The printer wasn't easy to set up & I still can't get it to work wirelessly despite all the on line "how to's".

Drives me up the wall!

PS - it's the Epson 2205 I bought!
