I have underpaid tax to the tune of £3,353. I know I have to pay it all back by 31 January 2025. 

I also have to pay back all my child benefit as my earnings for last year were over the threshold. In order to do this I have had to register for self-assessment which I have done and I have received a UTR number. I have not received a confirmation email and cannot view the form online (it doesn't appear to be there) but surely if I have been given a UTR number, this means it went through okay? 

What I also want to know is when do I have to pay the child benefit back by?  Is it also 31 January 2025?

Child benefit needs to be paid back within 30 days of the date of the overpayment letter

I haven't had an overpayment letter. I received a letter stating that I need to register for self-assessment which I did but I've never had so much as a confirmation email after submitting the online form. I've received no communiqué stating when the money has to be paid back by.

im sure ours has been incorporated with the tax bill and paid together

Thanks to you both. I suspect that the two can be paid together but I will call to check. I have a slightly different 0300 number but I'll try DDIL's if mine doesn't give me the info I'm looking for.

you might be lucky and find the bill youve got includes CB repayment.

I never thought about that, bednobs, but it does outline what I've earned in the last tax year and how I've underpaid £3,353 in income tax.

Are you self employed?
Do you agree with the tax figure quoted?

No I'm not self-employed. I agree and accept what I have to repay but the steps to follow are not all that clear in my opinion.
