4 Answers
I pulled my back last friday brushing my teeth (yeah i know). I was leant over the sink and when i leaned back up i had shooting pains in my lower back and legs, i think its a trapped nerve. it has eased but now iv got a severe ache in my lower back and upper left leg. is there any point going to the doctors, can they actually do anything or will they jsut tell me to rest it?

Let all your muscles totally relax for a moment or two.
Then slowly use your arms to push your upper back off the ground. Keep your lower back & hips on the floor to form a good arch in your spine.
Hold the position for 30 seconds and repeat six times.
Maintain this programme 3 times a day.
This will help straighten your spine and may gradually release any nerve that has been trapped by a temporary kink.
I've suffered back problems for many years and this basic exercise is one of the best I know for helping to reduce back pain.
