large flock confirmed in Hawkshead area.

Report from Durham waiting for confirmation

remaining  confirmed sightings are mostly in the Highlands and Islands

all sightings south of this are misidentifications.

Still very very early and a full irruption is likely as last summer's berry crop in Scandinavia and further East has been poor. We just need the wind to come from the East.

I asked a 'birdie' friend on Sunday - he hadn't seen any (top end E. Yorks/bottom of N. Yorks) but was expecting them by the end of this week.

Thanks rowan; fingers crossed for sooner rather than later.

Cheers Rowan.
