Another nippy one here! Frosty but no snow. Yet according to local weather the temp is suddenly going to rise tomorrow and be 14-15 degrees all weekend! Can't quite see it myself lol.

Going  to try and book hotel today for next weekend - have managed to get MrSmow to juggle work for at least nxt Friday & drive down to Devon with me to see YoungSmow & baby(whom he has never met yet). Will drive down on the fri(he's gona carry on work/calls in car) then will see them on the sat &sun, then drive home early Mon. Can't wait for more snuggles - baby Theo was just a couple of weeks old when I saw him and it's gone so quick!

Anyone got any plans for today? I don't have to do any shopping as I had an Amazon Fresh order yesterday, so that's one less job!

Still got snow, Tesco coming today.  We're forecast 14-15 this weekend, it will seem tropical after last night's -5.

Make sure MrSmow drives back from Devon, you've done enough long journeys lately

Question Author

Morning barry - you've still got snow? Must be pretty nippy still. My in-laws are devoted Waitrose customers for years & years lol, but since they moved house in June they now have a very local huge Tescos, and they are converts! I never thought I'd see the day but now they do nothing but sing its praises!

-4 here and the 2" of snow from yesterday's blizzard has frozen.  We have to get out to try to get to Tesco's  (nearer than Morrison's by at least 3 miles).  They promise us more snow on Saturday followed by torrential rain and gales on Sunday (when I have to drive 50 miles to younger daughter's to take her birthday present  and  Advent Calendars for the kids.  Help!!

Oh no, where do you live again jourdain?

Hi Smow and all. I could do without icy roads and road closures at the moment. I had 3 hospital appointments at 2 different hospitals in less than 26 hours already this week. I cannot complain about the NHS at all. Gearing up for a major op next week, car MOT tomorrow and signing a new will on Monday! I certainly picked the right pal to be my NoK, she has been brilliant attending hospitals with me. Bless her. I hope you all have the best day you can and hope you all take care.

Morning Smow and everyone. We have had no more snow but what we had has frozen so its quite slippy. I have had three bad falls in recent years so I daren't chance it, so I am staying at home for the time being. At least it is bright and sunny. Mr R is going in to town to get peanuts for the birds, they need it

Have a happy day everyone, stay safe and warm

Morning Rosetta & choux. Yes pls both stay safe if it's icy - you really do not need any more mishaps at all! I always say the snow and shimmer ice look lovely as long as you don't have to go outside in it! My MIL was talking the other day about 'The Big Freeze of 1963/64'. I wasn't born, but she was saying that it apparently started snowing on Boxing Day evening and the snow stayed until March!!

Good morning all. Due to be wet ...and very cold...all day here. We are also due a warm few days from Saturday...yay!

Choux...will be thinking of you next week xx

I had my Sainsbury’s order yesterday evening. Why do I always remember bits I should have gotten...after I've finalised the order??

Bless you, pasta xx

Question Author

Pasta - yep I do that every time! As soon as it's been delivered I say something like oh I forgot kitchen roll! Lol

Choux - yep also sending you best wishes for nxt week.  It sure what major op it is but hoping you have a speedy recovery and aren't away from us for too long x

Smow, did you see the FAO I left for you here in CB several days ago? It was a message from Lottie.

Bless you too Smow. I am just grateful to the NHS. When OH was so ill I counted up 9 hospitals for various critical health issues. I have already attended 4 different hosp's for this one problem but I am still here ;) xx

Good luck from me too choux

Bless you too, Rosetta xx

Pasta, I don't think I have seen Lotties msg x think I've missed it!

Good afternoon, was very surprised to see this still going at this time.  Had heavy rain this morning, went to Sainsburys then on to Dunhelm, when we came out it was snowing, lasted about 10 minutes then reverted to rain.  By the time we got home in time for lunch we were basking in the sun shining through bifolds into the kitchen.

Been catching up with ironing and housework this afternoon, boring!!!

Here you go Smow...I hope you see this! Come back Smow!!

There's also a message to all from lottie that I posted on Saturday early evening. It's "fao vagus"...who's not been on since about 10 days ago.

Got it! Thanks Lottie! ( and pasta x). I did buy a tens machine (with leads) after some recommendations a few weeks ago but to be perfectly honest it's blooming painful! And that's only on fairly low. Don't know why. I even tried it on MrSmow( very reluctantly lol) and he said the same - in fact he pulled it off almost immediately as it was so uncomfy.

Up here in Aberdeen the past week has probably one of the best we have had all year.Heavy snow, minus three all week, compared to what we have had up here in Scotland this year i would call it quite nice.No Global Warming this year again.

Question Author

Afternoon! So Aberdeen is still all snow bound! Bet it looks lovely when you don't have to go out in it x
