//Sir Keir Starmer is in a new row with leading company bosses as his government attempts to force around 2 million young people back into work.

As work and pensions secretary Liz Kendall unveiled the “Get Britain Working” plan in the Commons, a major business organisation – the British Chambers of Commerce – warned that Labour’s policies are more likely to lead to job losses.

There was similar criticism from the Confederation of British Industry (CBI), with both organisations pointing to the impact of employment rights legislation and the rise in national insurance dubbed “the jobs tax”.//

So that's one post.

How many other Post Office windows must we look in to find the other 1,999,999 Mr Starmer is referring to?

Is this Post Office still in business nicebloke..are the lights still on? :-)

Not sure about anywhere else, but the company i work for is hoping to get past the festive season and no more. The owner is already talking about final closure. We have a full order book, but overheads and making a loss(or the tiniest of profits) year after year is starting to take its toll.Once the "Net-Zero"comes into effect there wont be any jobs in Aberdeen.

Labour has never been a success in encouraging business only destroying it. The decline began in the sixties and seventies motor industry, steel, machine tool making etc all under Labours Tony Benn white hot technology.

Net zero will end up destroying thousands of jobs.

Honestly, NB talks such unadulterated bOollocks on everything such that I'm convinced it's a parody account.

Is Alan Sugar available to consult on these apprenticeships?

Be a shame if his skills were going to waste.

We still have adverts in the Post Office window in the next village and in our village notice board.  They are also on our village facebook page.  They are for trainees in farm machinery, egg sorting and packing, carers - all sorts of things like that.

Unfortunately,at least 2 youngsters I know of can't apply for them. No transport. The lad is advertising cut kindling now and doing odd jobs; the girl is now official carer for her father  - who unfortunately had a major heart attack a while ago - it won't last long, he will die when the artificial heart wears out in 2 years.

They can't afford driving lessons - never mind running a car!

So, what are kids like these - who desperately want to work - to do?
