i've never blubbered so much watching strictly ,great result x

Me too Mally.
At first I thought he was just getting the sympathy vote but as the series went on I realised just how courageous he was, doing what he was doing.
Everything that was said, about him and his dancing, was true. Great winner 🕺

Delighted with the result - I voted for Chris every week.

The others seemed too professional.

do you mean it's been cancelled

There's always one misery guts.

It was a brilliant final with all the couples dancing really well but Chris and Dianne were worthy winners. Craig's poem brought a tear to my eyes- quite a surprise.

I'm glad he won, he has always been adamant that he is treated no differently on panel and game shows that he takes part in; always keen to give it a go.

Thrilled that he won fair and square, one in the eye for the nay sayers and those shouting 'woke' in disgust when his place in the show was first announced.

He won on merit, not on sympathy votes

Quite the opposite - he was easily the poorest dancer in the final.  Fair play to him for taking part, but if you are going to invite someone with a disability onto Strictly and then make so many allowances for that disability that it makes a mockery of the competition, then the whole enterprise is a waste of everyone's time.

If a sighted person had danced as he has throughout, they'd have been gone in the first weeks.  Either it's a dance compeptition or it's not.  Evidently, it is not.

Of course this all stemmed from Stevie Wonder getting a job as a bus driver.

I completely agree with brainiac @ 11:31.  The level of dancing that Chris & Dianne achieved through the series was marvellous & worthy of praise, but he was not the best dancer on the night & imo, shouldn't have been in the final.

...but you're all overlooking the simple fact that Strictly long ago became a popularity contest rather than a dancing competition. It's inevitable when you allow the Great British viewing public to have the say on who wins.

Indeed Ginge, it's an entertainment show rather than a serious dance competition, and it certainly entertains loads of people.

Of course he wasn't the best dancer but he deserved to win anyway.

I though the idea of the programme was to teach someone with no experience how to dance, the other three contestants all had vast amounts of experience which showed from day one. Nevertheless I thought it was a great series with a good mix of celebrities

Yes he was the worst dancer in the final but the only one without previous dance training and the only one who I felt emotionally connected to in his dances. If we relied on good dancing Pete Wicks would never have reached the semi final, Chris was considerably better than him.

The judges may say they consider who has improved from week to week in their scoring shenanigans but when you ask the wonderful British public their opinion, you'll get a completely different answer.

Should be renamed "Strictly a popularity contest" rather than a dancing one. Shame for the other 3 couples who were much better dancers but all credit to Chris who gave it a go.

The British always give the underdog 110% support.....that's why we never win anything big very often!

Maybe change the title to Loosely Come Dancing?
