There was no innocence in the question.Atheist is one of the vile lefties who hates success.My guess is he failed in life miserably, and probaly has a small appendage.

Spungle, I agree with much of what you say. If I was Tim Berners-Lee I'd be worried that I might have helped change the world for the worst.

Yes, I believe he's said as much, that he's had some regrets.  As such, progress isn't necessarily black and white.  Some people who claim to be "progressive" are anything but.
