Just wondering will the BBC broadcast a Christmas Top of the pops this year?
The iconic music tv program, it has been described as a musical institution, ran from the 60's until 2006.
Personally I miss it, and I would say its widely greatly missed, but they kept the Christmas specials up until a couple years ago, but I was wondering will it be brought back this year?

Today's 'pop stars' wouldn't want to travel to the studio for a two and half minute slot lip synching - remember, they only get paid a pittance to cover the performance rights fee, but the artists knew it was great publicity. The 'top ten' mattered back then, it doesn't now.
They don't need TOTP
Thinking about it, you can easily compile your own TOTP show every week on your TV. Just pick YouTube videos from the current charts and watch those in succession.

//I used to get so excited watching TOTP to see if my favourite artist reached the show based on if they hit the top 30 that week.//
So did I but that was then and this is now. People can access any music whenever they want at any time- they don't have to wait for a 30 minute weekly TV slot. Youngsters wouldn't watch a programme now that had the odd song they like followed by one they don't like if they can't press 'skip'.
//I think I'm just craving some kind of normality between music and the listener, or the viewer in this case. //
I've no idea what you are trying to say. By normality, do you mean reliving your teenage years from decades ago?
