More good news from government. KS said councils can get on with repairing potholes, giving 1.6 billion to do so. Happy days.

No we can't.
You introduced the idea that the government abandoned roadbuilding projects so as to fix the roads that we've already got.
That is not the case. They said (in so many words) that those projects had to be scrapped because there is not enough money to undertake them. They had other things on which they choose to lavish their limited spending.
I simply highlighted one of those things. I can provide plenty of others if you wish.

A much bigger figure of £8.3B was promised by the Conservatives in 2023. I'm not sure if it's just more or less the same pot that keeps being announced.
I hope it's more likely to happen than the announcement of plans for say 1.5 million homes.
I'll wait until we see results. Announcements, especially those reannouncing old pledges as new, mean nothing if the outcomes are not delivered.
