Taxi Fare Conundrum.

Two couples and one person on their own (because their other half doesn't want to join us) are sharing a taxi and it has to be a six seater because of the extra person. The total fare is £18, do we split it three ways, £6 per couple and £6 for the one person, ie three separate families. Or five ways for five people. Meaning each individual couple pays more to subsidise single person. If the single person was not there and we could use a normal car, the total fare would only be £12, £6 a couple.

I have a better one: four people agreed to go to their last sylvan concert and would take a taxi for four

And Muh-darm said on arrival, - "oh no John and I are going a different way which is cheaper that I found"

we split the bill after that £80 - and didnt go to another group concert again which was probably what muh-darm wanted

why not say - -  the two couples are in fact a quadruple, and so they should pay £9 split amongst four and the singleton £9

and refuse to pay a tip - god that will get him back, begging for more !

When I eat out with friends one person pays. The next time another person pays & so on.

Chinese restaurant -  four people with a bill for £100 and I Wished to give 15% tip. ( short story: you pay which I did)

that would be total £115

£15 in cash to make sure the waiters get it

oh god no - intense discussion about 10% and one even arguing that the waiters deserved 8% because honesly they werent that good. I sat there agape. 

So now I front up the whole bil and tip and say " pay me what you think you have eaten". It is always under ( race to the bottom). No one wants to pay more than the first=proffered

It is possible they can pay for themselves but not the whole lot when it their turn

My brudda in law ( I dont want any charity from you!) insisted on paying the wine bill which he chose -  £500. Obviously more than him and myself

The last thing I will be doing at the end of a nice meal out is going through an itemised bill and atttributing each item to one of the guests.

no you have to check the items because ( secret) some waiters sticky things on! surely not surely not. I cannot believe such dishonesty exists in the world
