Phone the agency and ask them to make navigation to the correct address 100% clear. Down to the colour of the door or the tree/step/gate or other feature that they can double check before entering.

Display your name on the door or bell

My late mother lived at a house  with number 58 on a road that ran in an L shape, the next street cut into it just past the L bend.   No 58 was at the bottom of that street they did some work which included moving the front door.  End result two number 58 front doors in the same road.  Things were always being delivered to wrong house.

There is a house on the next street with the same number as mine but due to the street layout it's hard to find. I sometimes get post or callers intended for them.

 i keep my door locked

er good - that is problem solved innit?

Stick a map on your door with a You Are Here on it and a You Should Be There!

keep attempting..... and they have done it once...

I would hardly call this an intruder alert. But realise you don't want anyone mistakenly entering your house.

Call the care providers and make them aware of the situation.

And although there could well be new carers from time to time, any agency worth their salt will have the same rotation of carers going so they should get to the right house once they know the layout of the streets.

If it persists then a note on the door or a map with his name on it by the front door.

But rest assured you can't really manage the incompetence of others. Just manage how you deal with them.

I was with a neighbour who was being cuckooed. The cucko came in silently and stuck his head around  the corner and said

All right John ?

I just about died from fear. ( see thread on taboo actions)

sc 2 is Peter there with you ? ( me, for I was present) Yes he is and he is listening to this !

sc 3 - there is someone in the house John, {Cuckoo found half way up stairs.)

The original poster issue I remember more from Sister George 1967 with beryl Reid and Susanna Hampshire

its pretty scary having someone trying to get into your home , the dog goes nuts and it raises the blood pressure. the last time this happened it was the police with two plain clothes officers stood on our back fence and a vanfull with a battering ram kicking in the front door.

Sounds exciting!  Why were they doing that?  Do you live in a regular house with your own front door?

Question Author

we have a regular house but its on a dog leg

the police were very apologetic as you can see number 16 of neighbours house from our door

I'm not entirely sure what answer you wanted. Surely common sense tells you to contact the agency as soon as you realise there is a problem.

you seem to live on Police Dtive - Anderton, Hants

I live inan area where we never see them - and when they do come, they turn the first witness into a suspect ( of course)

By god that shuts us up ! gottle of geer, gottle of geer _ PP keeping his mouth shut

we have a very friendly dog who goes mad when she identifies a stranger at 50m.

Yes that was the one that jumped on her owner's chest and barked - "your car has just gone up the close and you arent in it!"

yeah but it is not in the patients interest that the nurses return to home base

and  say she not let us in! - - and they charge.

and that was why I let drunk Ton go on flobba-dobbing me, sacrificial I was
