For anyone who missed it, the link to my big (75 question) quiz is here:

Getting back to more normal business, I thought that I might score a maximum 7 this week on the main quiz wheen I got the first five right. However that's as far as it went! So that's FIVE out of seven for me then:
https:/
My luck was in on the junior quiz though, with a maximum FIVE out of five this week:

Can anyone beat my aggregate score of 10 this week, I wonder?
Your turn, anyway!

However, int tothers, twas further confirmation that I know nothing with 2/7 and 2/5.
The Norwegian Christmas tree is a gift from Norway in recognition of the help received from the UK in WW2 whereby the Norwegian royal family, dignitaries, the countrys' gold reserves and crown jewels were all transported to the UK by the Royal Navy; HM Ships Devonshire and Glasgow being the main two vessels in that operation. HMS Glasgow carried 25 tons of gold. HMS Devonshire carried many dignitaries as well as the royal family, amongst being Fred Olsen, he of the shipping line. Told you I knew nothing! ð Twas all part of Operation Alphabet.
Hi, 10CS!
I wasn't really expecting many people to have a go at the big quiz but, if you do get tempted, the audio and picture questions help to break it up into more manageable chunks, I think.
At least you managed to avoid any really disastrous scores this week!
(Better luck next week though!)
At least the Trafalgar Square Christmas tree comes from somewhere (i.e. Norway) that sounds a bit Christmassy. The one in Covent Garden always comes from Solihull, which simply doesn't have the same ring to it!

We used to have a lovely artificial tree by the university here in Ipswich

but, alas, it was so badly damaged in a storm last year that it won't be returning ðĒ
^^^ The links are only about Christmas trees in general, Arky.
Good luck on the big quiz!
(I think that you might quite enjoy it. It's definitely NOT a long list of boring questions about "When was the battle of Agincourt?" or "What's the capital of Albania?". I hope that the audio and picture questions will make it far more interesting than that for you).
