We had one in our last cottage, the first time I saw it I nearly sh1t myself, it just sort of floated out from the wall and across the kitchen, but we got used to it,it wasn't scary at all, but things did move around a lot, like pictures turned round or upside down, so I suppose it was just playing with us, we lived in the cottage for over 20 years so it can't have been a bad one, Ray
I didn't used to believe in ghosts. Then one day I was passing the village where my grandmother used to live, and where she died, and I dropped by to take another look at the village. I called in at the village shop and was told that the new owners of my granny's old house (who had come from far away and didn't know any of the villagers) had seen a ghost several times and their description of the ghost matched that of my granny. I later wrote to the owners and got the information first hand. There's no way that they could have known my granny, although I suppose they could have found an old photo of her, or something like that. Anyway, it has made me have an open mind about the appearance of ghosts.
No one believes you when you tell them but I know you can as I went to this derlict house on a farm and still on the ceiling was this lovely glass lampshade. As I knew the farmer I asked if I could have it.He said "if there is anything there you can have it with pleasure" So I got this step ladder and just as I was about to take the lampshade a shadow went over the wall and didn't go until I came down.I came down faster than I went up and I told the farmer and he said he knew but I didn't have the courage to try again.I should love to go back to see if it is still there but it was a long time ago.
I never believed in all this hocus pocus until I heard it one night back at home (about 6 years ago). It used to make strange loud scratching noises and make the furniture creak and pace up and down my room ... first time I heard it I was terrified and hid under my duvet all night and didn't sleep at all for the next couple of nights. But after a week, I got used to it (the noises) and started ignoring it at which point the ghost/spirit also got bored and stopped trying to scare me ... I haven't heard weird noises anywhere else I've lived so I'm sure there really was something in my room and I'm not crazy.
I belive, We have a shadow in our house ,see it all the time has been here since the birth of my nine year old> buth the day i gave birth to him a close uncle (young) was buried . so i just like to think its somebody watching over us.
Dosent scare us in the least.
Good link JOEY, I have put about my Sisters house on that link, that was so spooky, the house is still there and is mentioned in a book, I think the book is called "These Haunted Isles"
