I dont really know either as I am new to all this, I wanted to see if there was an option to just see posts from friends without all of the other rubbish posts from ramdom places

I don't think you can but if you're tired of a group and all their ramblings you can easily leave it.
Click on Groups at the bottom of the screen. Find the group you wish to leave, click on it. Click on the three dots top right and scroll down to Leave Group. Click on that for a more peaceful life.

I don't think it's possible to do that, however if you go into one of your groups and see a post your not keen on... in the top right you'll see three dots ... click on that then there's the option to select HIDE POST, See fewer posts like this.

I have never used it so it may also block some of your friends posts.
