She's right she did not crash the economy, the Labour chancellor is doing that right now. Truss budget was never implemented and even if it was it's not as bad as what we now have. Solid case I'd say

TCL, I'm sure you know very well it was a stich up to insconce Sunak in the position.

The BoE has already admitted an over reaction that caused gilts to rise which was the "crash" not the budget that was never implemented anyway.

Truss made many mistakes, clearly she was not advised, probably deliberatley, but the budget was for growth not like the current one we have which is for the opposite direction.

The issues here are around the words used, yes Truss put up an uncosted budget but it was the BoE caused the problem not her so she didnt cause a "crash" or "bombed".  All 2TK has to do is choose his words a little more carefully and accurately, as a brief himself he should know this.

Up here in Scotland Humza(useless)Yousaf tried to sue Elon Musk, when he realised the costs would have to be paid by him rather than us mug Scottish tax-payers he quickly backed down.Chancer.

16:14 yes, Truss was not the choice of the MPs. They wanted Sunak so this gave them the chance to dump Truss and crown Sunak without all that tedious voting when the party membership could not be trusted to give the "correct" answer. Compared to this anything Truss and Lami kwasi did was a small blip.

kami kwasi!

//Why was her Chancellor asked to resign/sacked?//

If that question is valid    ...   why has this one not been sacked or forced to resign?

//Truss was not the choice of the MPs. They wanted Sunak so this gave them the chance to dump Truss and crown Sunak without all that tedious voting when the party membership could not be trusted to give the "correct" answer.//

How very true, and the reason why millions of former Conservative voters will never vote so again. It all started well before Truss as well. Reform is required in more ways than one.

If the economy hadn't bombed then someone needs a different explanation as to why she felt a need to leave office.

Question Author

She was told by the parliamentary party that she would be ousted with a VONC. They used the reaction to the mini budget to install Sunak.

So she had reason to believe she would lose the vote of no confidence ? Why would that have been ?
