My heart bleeds for the multi-millionaire film stars who have lost one of their many homes in the conflagration (as covered incessantly on news channels) - no-one seems to care about the ordinary residents who have lost everything and have very little money in the bank.

Or the people that have died.

It's a rather sweeping statement to say that nobody cares about the ordinary people.

It is a horrendous situation for all involved.

But a picture of Paris Hilton in the media, who could have free accommodation in numerous hotels around the world is supposed to tug our heartstrings?

If only the media could report about those that were truly hurt.

But that wouldn't make "headlines"

Who cares about the plebs?

Ask a "jaag" driving AB member😏

Yesterday's Mail Online gave the impression only Hollywood A-listers were affected in their several articles.

Exactly!!!

What about all those people that earned a basic living pampering to the rich?

another moronic post from our resident obsessionist. Even as I type this the BBC are doing a report about the majority, non celebs that have lost everything. Do you ever engage the brain cell before openning the BS flood gates?

The fires are horrendous.  The BBC was talking to ordinary people yesterday.

It's the way of the world and no amount of posturing either way will change it.

I just heard that police are interviewing somebody in connection with it all.

The woman on the news who spoke about her father getting burnt to a crisp looked very ordinary to me.

Sorry about that.

Jeff Bridges has lost his family home that was handed down to him after his father's death.  I am sure that home is full of treasure memories.

Even the rich have mementos and memories that live in their houses.

So they're reporting on people we've heard of.  So what?

so the mail picks out some celebs. The BBC and sky have been running all sorts of stories about all sorts of people all morning. Like the old bloke who could barely walk having to send someone up the street to find someone with a car to help evacuate him. etc etc. The whole blocks of normal houses burnt to a cinder. etc etc, you really are clue less hymie.

So because they are rich they somehow deserve it?

Poeple want to read about celebrities so of course it's on the news.

They are also reporting on others. For example:

https://news.sky.com/story/la-wildfires-one-daughters-haunting-account-of-her-fathers-fatal-decision-to-stay-in-his-home-13286282

Celebrities are poeple too. Some of them are family homes, not holiday or rarely used properties.

It's tragic whoever has suffered.

//So because the  they are rich they somehow deserve it?//

No one has said that.

To be fair to Hymie many of the more Tabloid papers have gone over the top with "celebs" many of whom have multiple homes.  Up until recently there has been scant news on those who have lost literayy everything and wont have the money to rebuild.  Not seen much on the loss of wild life either.

The reason to use a celeb as an example is because it makes it closer to home for some who follow those celebs - more personal, more emotional.

Hi me! nice to see you posting

it is all down to loo-loo - Nice house wivvan actor and your own little palace next door which of course by reason of location is worth more
