OK chaps and chapesses this is a long shot.. on one of his albums (in the 70's or 80's) Peter Frampton 'spoke' the lyrics of the song through some kind of voice distortion box, anyone got any recolection of this and can tell me what the track was??... A big hug and a lick of my lolly for anyone who can help! :o)

Just for interest - the distortion was provided by a very primitive (it was the '70's) arrangement which involved a pipe next to the singer's mouth. The pipe blew air into the mouth, and the singer moved his lips into different shapes to adjust the sound. Early prototypes were positively dangerous - stories emerged of the air pressure being so high that fillings were lost, but these may just be rock and roll legends. If you see the film of Frampton playing the song, he uses the pipe without apparent discomfort, or indeed panic, so maybe they had sorted out the teething (a-ha-ha-ha!) problems by then.
Well Trudi, I'm cheating here by looking in my Guinness Book of Hit singles, but a couple of his other tunes were 'Baby I Love Your Way', which I remember to be a bit ballady, and 'Do You Feel Like We Do' - both available to listen to on the site the beautiful Jennifer gave a link to. His other hit was 'I'm In You'. Not sure if this will help you or not!
