Obtaining Some Kind Of Spanish VISA
I have a girlfriend who lives in Mexico, even before we were boyfriend/girlfriend, she wanted to go to Spain (being her native language) and get some kind of job there. I think she fancied Madrid. My girlfriend is a very intelligent girl, went to university etc...but now is the time that she really needs to get a VISA of some kind. (she can't stand to be away from me any more ;-) With all the geniuses here, someone must be able to tell me what types of VISAS there are, how hard they are to get, what you need to get one, how long it takes, how much it costs...from what I can gather, it all has to be done from her side of the world, she has to go to the Spanish Embassy in mexico City I think!?

There will be a difference between a tourist visa and one if she wants to take up employment.
If one of the conditions of a work permit is that she has a job BEFORE she leaves Mexico, perhaps she could consider the travel industry. I am sure that there are many Spanish people who want to visit Mexico and her local knowledge could be very useful to the right travel company.
Thanks man, she did just that. She does want to take up employment, even part time employment would be good...but the embassy have told her that jobs are hard to find and so it would be hard to issue her a visa?!? That sounds a bit strange, my girlfriend has a friend of a friend who works in a call centre in Spain, if she could organise a job and some accomodation...I don't see why the spanish embassy would have a problem issuing her a visa! Does that sound reasonable to you?
Some arse licking might be in order :-S
