Bats aren't blind - their eyes are perfectly good but they navigate and catch their prey in the dark by ultrasound or radar. They emit a high-pitched sound which reflects from an object and returns to their ears.
Vampire bats hunt mammals to feed on blood and they do at night when animals are sleeping. Fruit bats fly and feed during the day using heir sight.
