Lots of younger folk don't have a clue about pre-decimal currency, so I'm unsurprised.

Decimalisation of the UK money was 50 years ago - youngsters won't have any idea.

What's the decimal equivalent of a groat?  Makes almost as much sense.

a groat = 4d, so 1.66p

Not everyone would know a "quid" is a pound and many folk have never used pre-decimal coins or needed to know what they were.

Shove Ha'penny Board - takes me back to my childhood, we had one of those, and used coins with one face filed/polished smooth. The board regularly treated with talcum powder.  What fun we had, not an electronic device in sight 😁.

Apologies for threadnap but it was getting a bit tiresome.
