I had my hair dyed dark brown. I had light brown hair with highlights before. The dark brown is semi- permanent but ended up turning my hair red. Is there anyway i can get it to wash out fast. Like a certain shampoo or somthing? because i hate it!

Was terrified it would turn out dreadful and was resigned to walking around with a paper bag on my head but I'm delighted with the results. All the reddish tints have gone and my hair is now a light brown/ fair colour and very natural looking. However, if you've had your hair dyed recently, another dye so soon might be rather harsh. If you use lots of conditioner after every wash and go easy with a hot hair dryer hopefully it will be OK. I didn't find any shampoo which effectively got rid of the red/auburn colour previously, although exposure to lots of bright sunshine did bleach it our and turn it fairer.

I too tried putting a semi permanent on dyed hair and managed to turn it ginger! Lovely! After about 30 washes (all the same day) using a dandruff shampoo, it still was not working, so I rushed out and bought a dark chestnut brown permanent colour to try to get it to a more natural colour. It did the job, but the colour looked very artificial and not natural. In the end I went to a hairdresser who put highlights back in it and they stood out really really well against the dark colour and looked superb. I ended up really pleased with the result!! If all else fails, I would suggest going back to your hairdresser, as if you have any further problems/mishaps it could damage your hair.
