email sending time

if an email has a few pictures contained in it, non compressed does it take generally longer to arrive at its destination? if so, how long?

It'll obviously take longer to send from your computer, and longer for the recipient to receive all the pictures etc. It may take the servers a little longer to process too, if they're running spam checks etc. It shouldn't amount to too much though.
