Hi sorry to ask this so early but woke up this morning and i think my cat has worms,he is a house cat so went to remove his waste like i do every morning and their were little white rice looking things moving in it.
Just wanted to no- can i get them? How did he get them? How do i get rid of them?
You can also try the website www.bestpetpharmacy.co.uk.
They sell a lot of different worming tablets (as well as everything else) at very reasonable prices. One of my cats had tapeworm recently and I bought Drontal (I think) from this site. Cleared it up nicely.
The tapeworm was gross!! It was long and white and moved when I tried to clear up the pile of vomit it was lying in. Not a pleasant thing to do before you leave for work!!
I have no idea what the little white ones are but you could try having a look on the net to see. There are loads of great websites which give you the intricate details of what these little blighters look like!
I may very well be wrong here but I thought that it was the tape worm that broke off into segments which look like the rice grains and the long continuous white worms are called round worms. If I am wrong then please feel free to ignore me.:-{
Cheers hun it did look like grains of rice.
Well he is booked in to be castrated on Fri (how horrid does that sound) so ive rang the vets and going to sort him out with some worming pills too.
My poor baby he is going to be feeling sorry for himself this weekend
Tapeworm does come out in segments like rice. Roundworms look like spaghetti. They can get tapeworm if they have had a flea infestation, even if they never go out hunting.
Most worming treatments cover both round and tape worms, make sure you get an 'all in one'.
Make sure you wash your hands when dealing with the litter tray (and of course pregnant women should take particular care and avoid handling litter trays).
