the back lights went on me and the dash lights and i think the parking lights,could you tell me if they are on the same cicle . two days later the car would not start .it clicks when you turn the key .it will start with a push when you turn on the fan you can get a smell of it .as for lights i checked the fuses

Turning the key and hearing a click indicates that you have loose battery contacts

Battery first thing to try. Loose conection, or in need of charging or replacement. Check connections then charge.

Yep sounds like a bad connection - check your battery terminals for starters. Then earth cable to body and engine/gbox earth. WD40 around all the contact points can work wonders.

Definately a bad connection - or connections! The lights may be due to poor fuse contacts so check the fuses and their contacts as well as the fusebox wiring.
If the car won't start that sounds like the battery or its contacts. Check the battery state - it may be dead. Then clean and tighten the battery leads - especially the earth lead to body contact which may have rusted through. The engine earth lead near the gearbox should also be cleaned and checked. Also clean and tighten the contacts on the rear of the starter motor/solenoid.

the head lights work ok.i was told it might be the starter moter,would this effect the lights,and when we do start it with a push there is a smell of rubber .can you help please
