Maybe someone that you were dealing with has a crappy job where they do actually deal with the real baddies frequently and they've become cynical and started being suspicious & mean towards everyone? I'm sure it was nothing personal and reflects more on them than it does on you.

The fact that you have been hurt and upset by an experience proves that you are still very much alive, sensitive, and intensely human in your feelings, and have not yet been ground down to the point of submission or despair by the unpleasant events that this world throws at all of us from time to time. Be thankful that your spirit is still able to feel the emotions associated with hurt and uncertainty, put the difficult experience behind you whilst learning whatever you can from it, and lift your face to the future in the knowledge that you are now a little stronger than you were before, and you have the growing ability to empathise with the sufferings of others, and thereby to help to make their own horrible experiences slightly less painful for them, simply because you understand their hurt.
