Over weight Baby

I have a beautiful new daughter who is 11 weeks old and very tall .In excellent health (thankfully)we are told that at 7.2 kilos she is receiving too much mothers milk,therefore making her overweight.Living overseas after care is not forthcomming so if anyboby can offer advice I will be most grateful.Thanks in advance

I always believe in demand feeding especially when breastfed, she's probably just had a growth spurt!

takes into account height also! if your daughter is above average in height then she should be in weight! in fact i would worry if she was of an average weight!
It is worth noting also that a mothers milk is highly beneficial to offspring, providing many antibodies in what is known as colostrum (the initla breast-induced milk). I agree in the offering as much milk as she will take, simply because it is healthier, and besides, once a baby grows, exercise is an integral part of life and will aid in losing extra lbs if necessary, and eating healthily as a child should be encouraged, avoiding the high fatty western junk foods commonly associated with the western world.
