There is no need for them to be "dealt with" unless they're really causing you problems. It used to be the case that they would be whipped out as a precautionary measure, but that sort of thing is frowned upon now.
They are, as stated, four large teeh that grow at the rear af the adult jaw - hence the idea that they are 'wisdom' teeth, only gained in adulthood. Not everyone grtows them, but some people get 'impacted' wisdom teeth that start to grow out at odd angles, and are painful. The solution is extraction, which, given the size of the teeth, can be best performed under general aenesthetic, which dentists no longer use, and may therefore require a hospital visit.
I had one taken out a couple of months back whilst at the opposite end of the country - the hospital I went to at 5.00am referred me to the local emergency NHS dental clinic who were excellent.
Local anaesthetic and a quick and very welcome extraction. One hell of a relief!
