Online Gambling
It has been reported today that the government are concerned that Britons are spending 3.5bn on gambling online.
Are they, as I suspect, 'concerned' because they aren't taxing the winnings?
Or am I just cynical? (although I think cynicism is an inevitable by-product where this Government's taxing policies are concerned!)

This statement would seem slightly at odds with the report you appear to have seen flip. Additionally, she is calling for Online Gambling companies to register in the UK to act as a "hallmark of quality". Now that move is almost certainly to obtain tax revenue.
