cigarette smoke............

Somebody has kindly handed down some clothing, tracksuits etc made from polyester, cotten etc, for my children. Unfortunately, they're smokers & they clothes stink, even after I've washed them twice!! Usually, after a night out to a smokey enviroment, a wash in the machine gets rid of tobacco stench, but this seems to be embedded!! YUK! Has anybody any ideas how to get rid of the awful smell, or shall I just put them in the rag box at our local tip? Thanks, bunny xx

They need a good airing, put them out on the washing line for a couple of days, even if it rains, that should do it.
