Greenhouse effect
Is it just me? I have followed the Kyoto protocol for some time. I now see that the government is considering extra taxation to us to try and curb our waste and the subsequent greenhouse effect that we as a nation are causing or certainly contributing to with regards to the whole planet.
Our waste goes up into the atmosphere which affects us and other other countries........but we have to contend with the USA who are the biggest polluters that refuse to join the Kyoto protocol or curb their emissions (as it may lead to job losses in their own country) so why do I think at this point that I am sort of frustrated and very angry that I am going to be taxed a lot extra because of some American that lives somewhere out in America who thinks that Britain and a lot of other countries should cut down their emissions and pay more in taxes simply to keep themselves in the manner that they have become accustomed to?

The problem was that you were partying all day before and it was during your party that the boat developed a hole on the side as one of your mates decided to take an axe to it. So jake you can bail out as much as you like but if the other 300 are not going to join in....tough.
Well the fact is that there is progress. The American Government has agreed there is a problem and action is needed even though their technology approach is a bit lacking in credibility.

At the moment we're one of the leaders we have a choice of continuing to lead or we can listen to all the doom-mongers saying "Can't do it - won't try"
Remarkably they seem to be all the people who think Britain is a great nation.

nedflanders...its not a question of bashing india or china. You have your roads, houses and first world lifestyle. You cannot now ask others not to have progress. besides very soon they will be telling us what to do, so grin and bear it. Your time as world powers is over. now bend over as others shaft you. What goes round finally comes around.
