Man problems continued!!!

Everyone i could do with some advice on somthing and i need your help!...this is the story...
Three weeks ago i started getting friendly with this guy i work with. It started of as text messages then we met up and had a few drinks and not long after we actually slept together.
The next day after we slept together he was fine but the following nite i got a phone call to say it was over as he preferred my work colleague to me (the three of us work together and this colleague has no idea bout us)...so as you can imagine i was a bit hurt considering this guy had told me he wanted to be with me and wanted us to be together bla bla bla...
I carried on as normal at work, didnt make a scene etc.
The colleague at work now seems to not want him and he came back to me telling me that he was mad to leave me who had been so honest with how i feel about him.
However, everyone at work things something is going on between him and our collague as they didnt know about us...
I did consider that perhaps that we might give it another go but decided to mention to him that poeple at work were talking about whats going on between him and our colleague and that he needed to be a bit more careful...he didnt believe me and accused me of lying (which he knows i have never lied to him) so i told him to p***s off and that i wanted nothing more to do with him!
Problem is i havnt heard from him since (i know i told him to go away...but still) and i cannot get him out of my thoughts!!!!
I need convincing that ive done the right thing!!

hi again sam , god another scumbag!! if we were to follow our heads , and lets be honest we arent silly, we do know !!, we wouldnt go through half the heartache we do, but there is that little thing in all of us called hope , we let it rule our heads , but saying that dont stop hoping and when you find someone that your head isnt screaming at you to ditch. then take a chance, until then do what everyone has been telling me to do today ...forget him!! we know its the right thing to do dont we? and im optimistic that there is someone out there that we dont have to fight our heads over! xxxxx( )xxxxxx see ya babe
Walk away... he came crawling back after he couldn't get anywhere with your collegue and not out of respect for you.
He's an a$$ and you can do better.
Can't do anything to make the pain go away but just take it one day at a time and you'll be ok soon. You don't need someone like this and you can wait til someone comes along that actually deserves you.

thanks everyone that has posted an answer so far...especially you serendepity....its hard times thats for sure...you open yourself up to someone and they turn out to not be the person you thought they were! i must say the last few weeks has been very dificult but i have definately learnt a leason!.x
In life you will meet a variety of guys good, bad and indifferent. This guy sounds like he is a shagger who will promise the world for a shag. He shagged you then he wanted to shag your colleague. He couldnt shag her so he wants to shag you again, instead. This sounds like a man who will tell you want you want to hear for a shag.
There are decent guys out there. Unfortunately the better one's, are harder to find. In my opinion you are worth more than getting involved with a man like that.
