my better half and myself like a soft mattress, but most people go with these orthopaedic ones. does anybody know the best softer mattress, where can we get one

Anyone stocking 'Silentnight' - they do a soft one that's made so you don't both end up in the middle. Not cheap, though.
Personally, I'd have the person who recommended hard mattresses sleep on a concrete floor for the remainder of his life!

I prefer a very firm mattress as I find it better for my back.

KEEP AWAY FROM MILLBROOK. they are rubbish. i bought one and it looked worse than the one i had thrown out. the body impresions stayed there. and what did they say? ' they are made like that '.
