Nokia 6260 light

My dad's got a Nokia 6260 and he's doing my head in trying to figure out why even when he has the flip open the display light goes off after a few seconds? ven if he's in the middle of a text/ looking through the phone.

Is there an option that will allow this light to permanantly stay on while the flip is open or for a longer time than a few seconds? It's quite ridiculous.

usually with nokia's if you go into the setting its will give u an opion for the back light and you chould be able to change it to stay on for a longer period of time
