my mother and i have recently discovered that her paternal grandmother had children before my grandad and his brothers and sisters, whose existence not many people knew of. one lived, a girl, who we don't think ever saw my mother's grandmother (her mother) again. we believe my great grandmother left her husband and children to be with my great grandfather. the girl we have discovered died some years ago but she has a son and we can find no record of his death. we are having difficulty deciding whether he would want to be contacted or not, and if we decide to go ahead, we don't know how to find him. we know he married and the name of his wife but can find no record of any children, nor any record of his wife's death. we have tried the electoral roll and cannot find the two of them living together. i believe some people can choose not to be traceable in this way is this true? and if so, how else can we trace him?

For this one, if you feel you have the right location, I would contact the local newspaper and write a letter to their readers page and give enough detail, but not name the people, so that they have the option to get in touch via email if they wish.
