Ryanair priority boarding

Was going to place this in Travel but then thought it would be more appropriate in News.
From Ryanairs website:
'From 1st November, families with children will no longer be pre-boarded however they will have the option of online check-in and priority boarding if travelling without checked in luggage or priority boarding purchased at the airport if travelling with checked in bags.'
On a recent flight from Luxembourg to Dublin I was unaware of this whilst travelling with 2 children and a buggy and stood to the right of the long queue (as always). When the gate opened the steward told me of this new rule and sent me to the back of the queue. When I got on the plane last there were no seats available together (one of the children required their own seat, the other travels on my lap) so other passengers had to be disturbed. I have two questions/ponts on this matter:
Will Ryanair stoop any lower?
For any passengers who watched me walk to the back of the queue of 120 at 11pm struggling with two kids, you should be ashamed.

That is just unacceptable. How does it save Ryan air any time in turning around an aircraft. However by asking parents to buy pre boarding (who travels with children and no bags) they are making a fast buck. Totally reprehensible. This should be publicised widely in all travel journals/sites/newspapers so that Ryan air will be shamed into chnaging this rule.

Like they were shamed into changing rules on disabled travellers, premium priced foods, stranded passengers, baggage restrictions, unfairly treated workers.... Oh wait - they weren't.
They're a bunch of sleazy money grabbers, but so long as the hordes continue to travel with them there's no impetus to change.

I hope EasyJet and the other budget airlines can see the advantages in highlighting these "flaws" in RyanAir. Surely sooner or later they will lose market share???

Just read this and it seems weird. I don't have kids, but if I did, I'd be concerned that by not being with me, they were not in a safe situation. Surely RyanAir should have a duty to safeguard the safety of all passengers, and not just in terms of the flight - how do you know if they sit next to, well, you know. Even though I don't have kids, I shall never fly with them.

people fly with them because they're cheap. In effect, it's the passenger who saves a fast buck. If you want a cheap seat with a 50-50 chance of being treated decently, go Ryanair. If you want an expensive seat with a 90-10 chance of good treatment, pick a scheduled airline. You get what you pay for. No point in expecting champagne on a beer budget.

I tend to think like Jno i never exepect much when flying with them but I still do because of the cheap fares, all the same I think that staff could have used some common sense and let mats board with her kids not everyone is going to know new rules straight away its seems that sometimes they go out of there way to p*ss people off.People can be so selfish too someone could have easily let you go before them especially if they were travelling alone, but then I shouldnt be too surprised I went for a maternity appointment yesterday and there was men sitting in the seats beside their parterns and I was left standing Hello seat please!

I recently flew from Luton with easyjet and was pleased when they let families with small children board first, they did the same on the return flight and let us board the shuttle bus first, the other 3 buses turned up at the same time and it was a free for all, by the time you get your kids off the bus, the way people were running up the steps,you`d have thought there was a Harrods sale going on

We Travelled with Ryan Air Early this Year From Liverpool to Granada in Spain it was Brilliant both going and coming back, I am sorry that you had such a problem , That Stewardess should have had more compassion and Sympathy with Somebody with 2 Children at 11pm and she should have made sure that you were all seated together, And it seems that the rest of the Passengers who werte waiting were a bunch of selfish B**********.
