Is there a national number to report drink driving? A guy at work regularly drives home having had a skinfull at lunch time and I've had enough of it! He's been told on a number of occasions not to but has not taken any notice.

This is a drastic measure, particularly as he has a 50 mile commute, but I don't really care now - it could be my Mrs and my child that he drives into one day (shudders!).

I am ready to shop him.

You could report him to the local police
I know someone that drives around after downing a bottle of vodka
999
You can report all criminal activity completely anonymously on CRIMESTOPPERS, the police anonymous reporting line. The national telephone nujmberif 0800 555 111.

This telephone number is manned by a team of individuals who liaise with the police in whatever area the crime or fraud is being conducted and they will follow it up. You will need to provide them with sufficient information regarding timing, venue, car registration number so that they can be sure of making a successful arrest.

And don't feel guilty about doing this. You may well be saving the life of an innocent adult or child.

That's what I was looking for Wendy - thank you: I won't feel any guilt whatsoever, if anything I'll feel satisfaction in getting a drunk off the road for a year or two!

Norm and Big Bri - are you serious? If you are, you are both cretin headed simpletons.

I will happilly be a grass to get this idiot off the road: and trust me, I'm big enough and ugly enough to let this plank know exactly what I am planning to do.
Could you not ask the pub landlord not to serve him as he is driving 50 miles? A quite word in th ear of the landlord will mean the landlord will have a word with your colleague and that should sort it hopefully.

On the other hand, if the police get him he may lose his license and wont be able to get to work and his wife and children will suffer.
Ok it's bad, but it's not your business. You say he drinks at lunch and then drives home, presumably you mean at tea time. Do you klnow for fact he's over the limit? he may have had just 3 or 4r pints that will be well within the limit by tea time.

3 or 4 pints at lunchtime and then driving home 4 hours later is one thing - this guy gets plastered (we suspect he tops himself up during the afternoon as well, as there is an overpowering smell in mints around him). He won't listen to his colleagues and the bosses don't appear to give a monkey's.

Him losing his job is infinitely better than him killing somebody.

He may well have a problem - well fine, but he should get it sorted before he kills somebody, because I suspect it is only a matter of time before he does.

I'm a little amazed at some of the responses - I don't see any difference in shopping this guy and shopping somebody wandering down the road with a gun in their hand: they are both lethal weapons.
COMPLETELY agree with you, flip-flop! I'll do it, if you like...

:o)
How are you going to feel flip-flop if you suddenly learn that he has killed someone - or paralysed them for the rest of their life? What are you waiting for?
I can't belive that some people are not encouraging flip-flop to call the police on this man. Can we assume the people that thinks that he is a grass, also thinks, that it is alright to drink and drive? What if any member of their family or god forbid , their child was killed due to a drunk driver? Would they think that it was just bad luck? Me thinks not. Lets hope they never have to find out.
Flip-flop, the ONLY number i think you should be using is 999!

Good luck and GO FOR IT!! My husband was hit down and run over by two cars last year and is now suffering from brain injury which he will never recover from - he's 34 and we have an 11 yr old son.
Norman & Bri, maybe one day you might like to step out of your strange little world and face up to reality. If we dont start sticking up for ourselves who will??? The police do sweet FA and we are left to deal with the consequences of somebody elses careless & selfish actions!!!

To anybody out there who i may have offended with my outburst i truely apologise. xxx
