There are several points in the story that don't make any sense to me...
...firstly, to hide him, the girl cut a hole in the bottom section of her bed...?
I don't see how she managed that without her mum noticing. I mean, in three months didn't her mum once wash the sheets???

Right...I've just seen a mock up picture of the bed, and it now makes a little more sense (but not much).
The bed was on a raised platform with drawers facing outwards. Looking at the picture, it would be fairly easy to conceal someone in there.
I'm just amazed that the parents didn't twig.
As a teenager, I couldn't even have a crafty ciggie in my room without setting off my mother's early warning system three floors below.

The sentence given is a bloody joke. 2 years for the systematic rape of a child?
I find it hard to believe that the mother didn't know he was there. As much as I sometimes detest going into my young teens rooms (you know how revolting they can be) I always go in there to check they have done their chores..
Crikey.

lol Dom Tuk, I almost believe you have come over to the dark side xxxxx
but seriously it is an awful story and the girls parent(s) have let this happen. When I was 12 I couldn't even keep a litre of vod, and 12 Razzels under my bed for my mum to find them within an hour, let alone a 22 year old tramp!

"Is this some kind of sick april fools joke??"
I'd genuinely think so if we weren't six months out.
As sp1814 says, most parents know what you're up to the instant you do it.
How inattentive must the parent/s (make no assumptions; if its a single parent, it's vaguely understandable, if it's two...) have been? Seems the kid could've been in possession of "The Al-Qaeda Manual" and "Jihadist War For Dummies" and spent all the time reading them at the kitchen table and not alerted attention.

This is one of those irritating (and scary) stories which raises more questions than it answers.
I honestly can't work out how this happened unless the parents were either a) extremely trusting of their 12 year old girl or b) ********.
Another thing that astonishes me is how the 10 year old sister managed to keep the secret.
When my sister was 10, she had a full time job grassing me up to my mum whenever I did anything.
By the way, two years??? Seems like a weirdly short sentence?
