indeed devils-ad.. And as for all the immigrant cleaners, porters, doctors nurses technicians etc who work for the NHS and keep it functioning... lets not even go there

Hmmm. trying to work out whether that was a joke or not. 1) Glad someone DID mention the number of fat/lazy infected people who are already in this country, who are not willing to do the jobs which immigrants take, thus becoming a useful part of our economy. People come here to forge a better life for themselves. Sounds like a pretty basic enorsement of our capitalist state to me. It is not your right as a British person to sit on your arse all day and get the benefit of the state. 2) The BNP policy (watered down to a 'preservation of the british way of life) is cultural separation. A couple of black friends of mine went to one of their meetings [which did not go down well] and it was explained to them that the BNP thinks all races are 'beautiful and should be kept pure]. Other cultures will simply be allowed to 'go back where they came from'. When Ben said that was alright because he came from Leeds it was explained that no, back to where he culturally came from. Has anyone heard of 'ethnic cleansing' or 'apartheid' [which literally means separate]? 3) The French - William the Conqueror. The Vikings. William of Orange. The Royal Family [who became Windsor when clearly coming from Germany inexplicably lost it's appeal at the beginning of the last century.] Where do we make the cut off point which makes others immigrants and us British to the bone?

Hmmm..i was using sarcasm to illustrate a point in response to Devils-ad... in future will stop trying to be a smarty pants and just disagree in future ;) p.s. In response to Katie's original question - The BNP have existed for as long as they have because some people vote for them and it is the responsibility of people who oppose thier views to get out and vote accordingly as 'evil thrives when good men do nothing' - and if anyone can quote that correctly i will be eternally grateful (QM?)

Blimey! Right, at the risk of sounding like a moron and half wit, didn't the BNP evolve from the National Front, who were undeniably racist? and, regardless of what their policies may or may not be, if you say BNP to most people in Britain (myself included) they'll automatically think 'racists' , so people who vote for them are surely voting for a party that they believe is racist. I understand the 'Britain first' and law and order angle, and hope that at least some people are only voting BNP because of this. Now that UKIP have made it clear that putting Britain first is their top priority, I really do hope that the BNP will lose votes to them because, and I haven't read their manifesto (nor will I waste my time doing so) , I believe that they are racist and that's my perogative, thank you very much.

Surely in a free democracy we should be able to vote for anyone, regardless of how tasteless it may be (or appear to be) to others. If people do vote this way, they do it because they believe that they offer them something others do not. If they perform well, we have to accept their view as being that of the majority. As long as we ALL vote when we are called, the true will of the people will out.

With the anti BNP hysteria I really do fear for the state of democracy in the UK. People are loosing their jobs (police, firemen,teachers etc) just because they choose to support a policital party. This time it happens to be the BNP. The banks have frozen the BNP accounts, meaning they can no longer comply with the rules of the electoral commission and stand in elections. Today its the BNP, tomorrow it could be the liberal democrats etc, until we only have a one party state. Just for the record, I like and dislike some of the BNP policies, the same happens to be true for most of the other political parties. Things I like about the BNP, there are against the UK being part of the EEC. They stand against globalisation and the unfettered free market. They also stand for workers rights, they do not like the way many British jobs are being outsourced to India just to generate extra profit for the few. This is probably why the banks have frozen their accounts, the banks clearly do not like normal people having a voice. I do not understand why the BNP are classed as being "far right" when some of their policies seem more socialist than say labour. Things I dislike about the BNP, I do not agree in their racial agenda, to me if someone is a British citizen, they belong here and should be treated equally, no exceptions.
