Smart Forfour - car care maintenance

can anyone help?? everytime i start my smart forfour, a little spanner sign comes up on the dash board. then a number comes up. the number started at 29 but has counted down and is now 26. does anybody know what this means?? i have checked the manual and it does not mention anything about this.....

I'm not familiar with that car, but on mine it is reminding me that it is nearly time to get it serviced. I don't know what the numbers are. Hundreds of miles maybe?

this is the amount of days left you have to book it in for a service (sometimes it jumps days as well) the onboard computer works out your driving style
& determins the service due time,it starts off at 10k and counts down to zero, but i found with my A class it would only go for a year irrespective of miles done. 5k max for me
annually.
