i am really serious...i cant get hold of any one particular doc or manual that gives me the complete info...all comes in bits and pieces...so i am looking for some help regarding how to go about the entire process..starting from getting a home PC to surfing the web.

Go to your local Curry's or PC World and get a free disc, i.e. AOL or Wanadoo. Stuff it in your cd drive and off it goes, telling you how to do it. But you will have to pay in the end as you need an Internet Service Provider (ISP) or you wont get very far.
