I have a really strange sensation in the side of my foot. It's difficult to explain but it feels like an electric current pulsing (not heartbeat rhythm) at random. When it happened in bed the other night it felt as if the bed was vibrating and I actually got out to investigate!! It reminds me (strangely) of the pulsing sound of a microwave on defrost - weird I know, but does anyone know what causes this? It's not painful just odd. It's happened several times.

Netty7 could it be restless leg syndrome? I too get this uncomfortable sensation from time to time when I am trying to get to sleep.

Good point sunflower68. I do suffer with restless leg syndrome but it has never taken this form before. It's always been the feeling of not being able to keep your legs still - they just want to jiffle all the time with a really unsettling sensation in them. This latest sensation is so different and really odd, but could be connected.

Thanks for the link btw, it's really informative.

I've been getting the same thing. It just started this week. Mine is on the bottom of my right foot in the area below my big toe. I called it a shuddering feeling inside of my foot. I also suffer from restless leg syndrome exactly as you described yours, a feeling of not being able to keep your legs still, but this is different. I just wanted to know if its something I should be concerned about.
