It's really for the ladies because when the men are hogging the remote (as usual) the ladies never have to miss an 'important' programme again. I've series linked everything there is to series link. Oooh, it's great. Even though I vowed not to watch I'm a Celebrity, I've even series linked that !!! Happy watching...
Yep as above I've got Sky+ Had no problems myself . Couldn't live without it. On these sorts of things Watchdog don't tell you the full story, There are people who cannot operate a video so sky+ will be a mystery to them. I wouldn't mind betting that a lot of the complaints are "user error".
You know what they say, doesn't matter how idiot proof you make something, there will always be a better idiot!

Sky + is very good indeed and although it can go a bit haywire with series passes sometimes, sky will no doubt download fixes in the fullness of time that resolve these issues.
If your feeling very adventurous then why not look on ebay for a Tivo, they are even better in my opinion (I own both), they make sky+ look complicated and are much more flexible.

I have a Sky+ box and have had no problems.
Some of the great advantages.
Using the on screen guide (EPG) you can set a program to record just by pressing the red "R" button on the remote control. No more worry about what day, start time or stop time.
You can set series link so that each show in a series will be recorded so if you forget to watch one the box has recorded it for you.
You can watch a recorded program from the begining, or if you have watched part of it, you can watch it from where you left off.
You can "lock" a program so it cannot be deleted unless you know the password.
You can record two programs at the same time.
You can record one program while watching another.
You can easily copy a program from your Sky+ box on to a DVD (if you have a DVD recorder).
You can "fast forward" through a program to skip the adverts or a section you do not want to watch.
You can easily delete a program once you have watched it.

As with anything there will always be a problem.
I remember one time that the memory was near full and recorded a programme then when I went to watch a programme I recorded a few weeks ealier it had disapeared! But after watching the sky guide it does say that when the memory is full then it deletes some ealier programme. But the best way around it is to keep things that you want to watch.
Also although I havent used it yet you are able to set up a link with your mobile to beable to sky + programmes when your not home. Very handy if you forget to sky + something
