Cosmetic Surgery for a 12 year old
5 Answers
I cuaght a bit of Lorraine Kelly this morning before heading off to work, there was a story about a girl from Texas who had had lypo and a tummy tuck at the age of 12. She was apparently a UK size 24 at the age of 12 and 16 stone, so her doctors agreed to allow the surgery. She had apparently also tried many diets and didn'r get anywhere.
Surley this is insane, her body will have not fully developed, will it not lead to complications in later life? I was appauled, did you see it? What are your thoughts?

If she has a persistant negative body image of herself she'll struggle to lose weight to be honest, so perhaps it wasn't such a terrible idea after all.

What creeps me out about this is that she got to 16 stone by the age of 12...surely either she or her parents must have felt that something way wrong. I went off the rails a while back, ate a lot of junk for two weeks, and the pain in my gums was excruciating and the effort to get anywhere seems Herculean compared to what it is now. To get to 16 stone...it should just FEEL wrong, instinctively, to be that overweight. And I am appalled, at all of it.
