I've often heard of people in Victorian times suffering from consumption. What is consumption? Does it still exist today?

It's what they used to call TB so yes it does still exist.

Galloping consumption was the common term used for Tubercolosis (TB) and yes, it does still exist today. In fact it is apparently on the return.

Yes, sad to say it is now on the increase, due to allowing unchecked foreigners into this country by the bucket load!!
