ABers who can't use the sub categories need to ask themselves why they can't.

They are really easy to use and provide a more focused discusion.

There seems to be a few people that moan - come on tell us really what your problems are??

I like them.

I don't agree that they provide a more focused discusion. In Q&P we have the main topic, crosswords and riddles. A lot of people don't seem to be able to post in the correct categories. Most still post in the main topic but I find we get all sorts of questions asked in the other sub-categories. It is just too confusing. Where I used to just pop into 2 or 3 other topics I now have to go into about 6 or 7 or more sub-categories and they also have all the topics mixed up. So what is the point? It worked well in the original format so why change just for change sake. If it ain't broke don't fix it.
They all appeared in a mass, and some are a bit silly, like why have separate Food and Drink under Food & Drink. Splitting News into Current Affairs and Politics is a bit esoteric, and worst of all, no Classical Music under Music especially when we have Celebrity Gossip twice !!
I don't mind them I just think they need a bit of fine tuning .Eg why have Food and Drink and then food and drinks subsections.I traipse through them when I can find the time but I must agree with JimJools my crossword compatriot that Q&P should just be the one section ..as it is we have have to keep dodging back and forth.
I just don't get the time to trawl all through the sub-sections, thus missing some good posts and lots of friends.
For a start - because of the variety of questions it is impossible to get near to catagorizing them. Remember it is only how close a person can judge their question is to suit a particular section that determines its' position. The reverse is also true as to how the Answerer can "come across it". The one basic topic will always be closer than someone breaking things down to catagories.
I am sorry but I will only give it so long - and I am one who praised this site to the heavens not long after joining.

Cheers Hard@it
I think they have great potential, but like earlier stated, they aren't used correctly and just need fine tuning. Music,I can skip gigs, Shopping,I can skip fashion, whereas before, these would be on main page and possibly pushing something I was interested in,down a page or two
its to hard to browse.....
The trouble is you can't fine tune the users.
Its not that we CAN'T use them, we just don't want to have to!
Even after some small changes which were made recently, there are still 84 sections where questions can be posted and 84 sections to trawl through looking for something that you might be able to give an answer to.

It is too much and too time-consumimg.

Note to AB Ed: Clicking on "History" STILL results in the heading "History & Myths"!

I feel that it would be better if it were made not possible to post in the main heading of topics which have sub-sections. That would remove 22 of the 84.
What a patronising person you are time2fly!!

Of course we all know how to use them - we just don't have the time to trawl through them all.

I know we are missing out on some great Q's and also chums....as lankeela and netibiza have already pointed out.
