Universal Remote Controls
3 Answers
Does anyone know if these are any good?
I have the usual TV, DVD Player, VHS player, SKY Digibox, and am fed up with using separate remote controls for them.
I know you can buy the Universal Remotes for the TV, DVD, and VHS, but do any work with a standard SKY Digibox, and if so, are there any that are clever enough to access the SKY TV Guide so that I can scroll through what is on TV?

Any commands or brands it didn't have stored can be taught easily enough - you put it in learn mode, then point the old remote at it and press the function you wan't it to learn.
It has been a great purchase so far. However... they are not cheap and I have 2 sets of rechargable batteries that need swapping every 4 weeks or so.
It currently controls digi-box and hard drive, cd player, dvd player, amp and tv - with the screen configuration changing depending on the appliance you select.

Hmmm
I have one of those too the first one looked like this:

ate batteries and hummed - I hated it.
Got it replaced with a later model that looked like this:

Which was miles better. As jenky says you can teach it any signal and reprogram buttons.
Mine controls the TV, Video, DVD-PVR and Surround Sound amp. Don't know about SKY - I dont use it but I'd be amazed if it didn't
If only they made one that bleeped when you whistled like those old keyrings!
